Parrotia Jacquemontiana, Decne (Fothergílla involúcrata, Falc. Parrotiópsis involucrata. Schneid.). Spreading shrub or small tree, to 20 ft. : lvs. orbicular, crenately toothed, stellate-pubescent on both sides, 2-4 in. long: beads many-fld., with spreading white bracts sprinkled with a purplish scurf on the back; stamens about 15, erect, with yellow, oval-oblong anthers.
