Cirrhaea (from Cirrhus, a tendril). Orchidaceae. About a half-dozen Brazilian orchids, of no special importance, one of which, C. viridipurpurea, Lindl., is sparingly offered abroad, and two or three others of which are mentioned in horticultural literature. Allied to Gongora; cultured as for Cymbidium; warmhouae. Fls. mostly greenish and red (or purple), on long pendulous racemes that arise from base of the pseudobulbs. CH
