Strobilanthes isophyllus, T. Anders. (Goldfussia isophylla, Nees). A low, much-branched, bushy shrub, 2-3 ft. high, swollen at the joints: lvs. short-petioled, opposite, narrowly lanceolate, distantly serrulate or entire: peduncles axillary, shorter than the lvs., bearing several fls.: corolla 1 in. long, funnel-shaped, blue and white; limb 5-lobed; lobes emarginate. India. B.M. 4363. B. 5:244.—Used either for bedding or for pots. Blooms profusely either in winter or summer, according to treatment. CH
