Primula minima, Linn. Lvs. little more than 1/2in. long, shiny, firm, almost glabrous, the margin not cartilaginous, cuneate or obtriangular, exceedingly truncate and serrate at the apex, narrowed toward the base: scape short or very short, shorter or rarely longer than the lvs., 1-2-fld.: bracts 1-2, small: fls. rose or white, when rose-colored usually bearing a white eye; calyx covered with sessile glands, not split to the middle, with obtuse or mucronate lobes; corolla-tube whitish, the throat glandular, limb funnel-shape from the base, finally flat, 1/2-1 1/4 in. across, with bifid, obcordate lobes: caps. included in the calyx. Mountains of S. E. Eu. (Austria and Balkan region), in limestone and granitic regions. Gn. 61, p. 397. G.W. 15, p. 273. R.H.S. 39:113.—A choice little plant of several forms, one of which has fringed corolla-lobes. Plant about 1 in. high. CH
