Holboellia latifolia, Wall. Lfts. 3-7, ovate-oblong to elliptic- oblong, acuminate, pale green below and reticulate, 2 ½ - 3 ½ in. long: fls. about ½ in. long, in short-peduncled racemes, on pedicels ¼ - ½ in. long; the pistillate purple, the staminate greenish white, fragrant: fr. consisting usually of 2 oblong carpels, each about 4 in. long and 2 in. thick, rosy purple, edible.
