Masdevallia hieroglyphica, Reichb. f. Lvs. oval or oblong: peduncle short (about 3 in. long); fl. with tube yellowish at bottom, becoming whitish, marked with crimson; lobes triangular-ovate, all with lone tails, the tail of the dorsal lobe hanging forward and marked with purple at its base; petals yellow.
