A '''sepal''' is a part of the flower of angiosperms or flower plants. Sepals in a "typical" flower are green and lie under the more conspicuous petals. The '''''perianth''''' is made up of the calyx, which is the outer part of the flower made up of sepals and the inner part of the perianth (called the corolla) which is made up of petals.
