Rulingia pannosa, R. Br. Eventually a shrub, several feet high, but flowering freely at a young age: lvs. scabrous-pubescent above, densely velvety hirsute below, on older plants ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, on young plants broader and often 3-4-lobed: cymes shortly pedunculate; fls. white. B. M. 2191.—The plant offered in Calif. as Pomaderris apetala is said to belong here Prized by some for the fleecy coating of its lvs. The above text is from the Standard Cyclopedia of Horticulture.
