Amphicome (amphi, both, and kome, hair; the seeds having a tuft of hair at both ends). Bignoniaceae. Greenhouse herbaceous rockery plants from the Himalayas, with large, rosy, funnel-shaped, 5-lobed fls. which are axillary or terminal : Lvs. alternate, unequally pinnate.—Species 2.

A. Emodii, Royle. Height 1½-3 ft.: lfts. in 5-7 pain, cordate-ovate, obtuse, shortly petiolulate, margin crenate-lobate: fls. at first corymbose; corolla-tube and throat orange: calyx-lobes short, thick, fleshy. B.M. 4890. Gn. 8, p. 25; 38, p. 458. F.S. 11; 1109.
