There is also a var. compacts. New Caledonia. Reaching 50 ft. in height. R.H. 1866:390, and plate. I.H. 22:204. A strikingly beautiful plant and somewhat rare in cult. The figure in G.C. 1861:868, is A. Muelleri, Brongn. & Gris., a broader-lvd. species. Var Goldieana, Hort. (A. Goldieana, T. Moore). A variety with narrower Lvs. and with branches rather, more erect than the type. F. 1877:39.
