Describe the plant here... {{Inc| Impatiens roylei, Walp. (I. glanduligera, Royle). A rather coarse garden annual, with strong st., succulent and much-branched: lower lvs. opposite; upper lvs. usually in 3's and whorled, all ovate or ovate- lanceolate, naked, 4 in. long, sharply serrate; basal serrations and the petiole glandular: peduncles axillary, with 3 or more fls. and very numerous toward top of plant; fls. large, dark purple; spur very short. Aug., Sept. India, in the Temp. W. Himalaya region, 6,000- 8,000 ft. altitude.—Grown from seed, needing but little care, and useful in groups. In its native country it grows 4-10 ft. high. Variable. var. moschata, Hook. (I. moschcata, Fdgew.), has lvs. alternate and whorled, coarsely serrate and less glandular. Var. Candida, Hook. (I. candida, Lindl.), has uppermost lvs. opposite or whorled, and fls. white spotted crimson. J.F. 4:416. var. macrochila, Hook.
