Bulb ovoid: lvs. 4-5, 2-3 in. long, becoming 6 in. long after flowering time, with white obscurely ciliated edges: st. short, 1-headed: tube 2-3 in. long; limb pale lilac; outer segms. with an orbicular blade with a dark purple blotch, an orange keel, and purple lines and spots; claw auriculate; inner segms. small. Asia Minor and Persia. B.M. 1. Gn. 11, p. 207; 14:490; 33:558; 54, pp. 103, 470; 66:8. F.S. 10:1045. G.C. III. 7:577.
