A tall shrub or small tree, with graceful drooping branchlets: phyll. clustered, less than 1 in. long and 1/12 in. broad (or narrower and 1 1/2 in. long) linear-subulate, tapering into pungent point: spikes slender, 1 1/2-2 in. long; peduncles 1/2in. long; fls. distant, acute in the bud, 3-merous, the petals with distinct nerve; calyx short, riliate: pod usually curved, acuminate, often 2-3 in. long, scarcely 1/6in. broad, slightly pubescent when young, but soon glabrous; valves very convex, coriaceous, contracted between the seeds; seeds longitudinal; funicle much folded and thickened nearly from the base. Fls. lemon-yellow, last of Feb. and March to Apr. Tasmania. This may be distinguished from A. verticillata by its phyll. in clusters rather than in whorls and by its distant, 3-merous fls. Its habitat is in moist shady places in its native country. {{SCH}} }} ==Cultivation== {{edit-cult}}<!--- Type cultivation info below this line, then delete this entire line --> ===Propagation=== {{edit-prop}}<!--- Type propagation info below this line, then delete this entire line --> ===Pests and diseases=== {{edit-pests}}<!--- Type pest/disease info below this line, then delete this entire line --> ==Species== <!-- This section should be renamed Cultivars if it appears on a page for a species (rather than genus), or perhaps Varieties if there is a mix of cultivars, species, hybrids, etc --> ==Gallery== {{photo-sources}}<!-- remove this line if there are already 3 or more photos in the gallery --> <gallery> Image:Upload.png| photo 1 Image:Upload.png| photo 2 Image:Upload.png| photo 3 </gallery> ==References== *[[Standard Cyclopedia of Horticulture]], by L.
