The common millets of the United States, the Foxtail millets, are forms of Setaria italica. African millet, also called Black, Chinese. Indian, and improperly Pearl millet, is Holcus Sorghum. The name African millet is sometimes applied to Eleusine Coracana. Barnyard or Japanese millet is Echinochloa frumentacea. Pearl millet is Pennisetum americanum. Dept. Agric., Farmer's Bull.
