The strap-like leaves are [[Sessility (botany)|sessile]] on the stem. The flowers are yellow, narrowly bell-shaped, and creamy yellow, blooming in spring.
The leaves have no hairs on the margin and are somewhat narrow, distinguishing this plant from the similar ''[[Streptopus]]''.
