Plumeria acutifolia, Poir. (P. acuminata, Ait.). Frangipani. Figs. 3081, 3082. Lvs. acuminate, often 1 ft. or more long, 3 in. wide, broadly lanceolate, with a long tapering base: corolla-lobes oval. Mex. B.M. 3952 (fls. white, much flushed from the center with pale yellow). P. acuminata of B.R. 114. H.U. 4, p. 161, with its narrow oblong lobes and close well-defined golden center, may be a different species though commonly considered the same.—Cult, in all tropical countries for the fragrant whitish fls.; flowers all the year. Also known as the temple-flower and graveyard- flower.
