Primula vinciflora, Franch. Plant with a short perennial rhizome: lvs. thin, papery, oblong or oval, densely overlapping and forming a narrow erect crown, all erect or nearly so, the upper ones larger, all entire but ciliate,covered with reddish glands: scape short (6-9 in.): fl. solitary, purple-violet or blue, 1 1/2 in. across, the tube cylindrical or long-obconic, yellowish at the base and covered with black glandular hairs outside; the segms. well separated and broadly obcordate, the 3 upper reflexed on the tube; calyx small, not inflated.
