Mammillaria cornuta, Hildmann. Depressed-globose or hemispherical, small, grayish green: tubercles large, flattened and imbricated; areoles round: radial spines 5-7, stout, short, compressed, radiant, grayish, the upper longer; central 1, stouter, as long as the radials: fls. rose-red. "In age the spines fall off and the plant, covered with imbricated, scale-like tubercles, reminds one of a pineapple." Mex.
