Lvs. somewhat upcurved-spreading, oblong-lanceolate, 1-1 1/2 x 8-24 in., with openly grooved spine and rather sparing thin marginal threads: infl. rather stout and dense, 10-15 ft.: fls. maroon, 1 1/2 in.; ovary and segm. 5/8 in. each, tube 1/2 in.- E.
