Laurel. Properly Lauras nobilis, but other broad-leaved evergreens have taken the name. The kalmias are known as laurels. The cherry laurel is Prunus Laurocerasus, and in America P. caroliniana. Portugal laurel is P. lusitanica. Ground laurel is Epigaea. CH
