Small glabrous tree, 30-40 ft.: lvs. elliptic, 2-4 in. long, acuminate, shining, entire, the petioles slender but less than 1/2in. long: racemes rather dense, shorter than the lvs., the slender pedicels subtended by deciduous bracts; sepals or calyx-lobes laciniate and acute, deciduous, much smaller than the reflexed white petals which are yellow near base within: fr. nearly globular, pointed at apex, 1/3-1/2in. diam., orange. S. Fla., W. Indies, Brazil.
