Hymenocallis calathina, Nichols. (Ismene calathina, Herb. Pancratium calathinum, Ker). Fig. 1936. Basket- Flower. Bulb long-necked: lvs. 6-8, somewhat 2- ranked, star-shaped, 2 ft. or less long: scape 2-edged, 1 ½ to 2 ft. tall, bearing 2-5 fls. in a sessile umbel; tube green, 3-4 in. long, much enlarging above; segms. as long as the tube, ½in. wide, lanceolate; cup corolla- like and green-striped, usually larger than in the last, with rounded fringed lobes; filaments, free for 1/2 in.aincurved but not angled. Peru, Bolivia. B.M. 2685.— One of the paler kinds.
