Iris pseudo-pumila, Tineo (I. panormitana, Tod.). Lvs. ensiform, glaucescent, 6-9 in. long, narrowed suddenly to an oblique tip: st. 1-headed, 6-8 in. long, clothed with bracts, 1-fld.: tube 2-2 ½ in. long; spathe-valves green: fls. varying from yellow to bright lilac; outer segms. oblong unguieulate, 2-2 ½ in. long; inner segms. rather broader. Mountains of Sicily. I. statellae, Tod., is a hybrid or a sport of this species. The seeds give rise to typical I. pseudo-pumila plants. B.M. 6894 is I. erratica, Tod. Probably a similar hybrid.
