Juniperus lucayana, Brit. (J. australis, Pilger. J. barbadensis, Auth. J. virginiana var. bedfordiana, Veitch, not linn. J. virginiana var. barbadensis, Gord.). Tree, to 50 ft., with spreading branches and slender pendulous 4-angled branchlets: lvs.light green, closely appressed, ovate, sharp-pointed, glandular: fr. globose, about 1/6 in- thick, dark blue, bloomy, 1-2-seeded. S. Ga. to Fla., Jamaica, Cuba, Bahamas, Haiti. S.S. 14:738.—One of the most beautiful of the junipers, often planted for ornament in the Gulf States, and in the W.Indies.
