Lavatera trimestris, Linn. (L. rosea, Medikus). Height 3-6 ft.: leaves nearly glabrous, upper ones angled: flowers rosy, 4 in. across: receptacle or axis of the fruits expanded at the apex into a disk, inclosing the ovary.
