Narrow leaves have quadrangular sections, and are a tough, dark greenfl. Flower spikes are thin and whitishfl, and about 0.9-1.2m (3-4 ft) tall, emerging from the crown of leavesfl. Flower spikes, soft leaf bases and roots are ediblefl.
