Synthyris reniformis, Benth. (Wulfenia cordata, Greene). A tufted plant about 1 ft. high: lvs. glabrous, orbicular-reniform, crenately incised, the small lobes sharply toothed, 1-3 in. diam.; petioles 3-6 in. long: infl. a raceme about 5 in. long with about 40 purple-blue fls. which are 3/8 in. across: pedicels slender and short.; calyx-lobes lanceolate. Ore. and Wash. Gn. 74, p. 165. —In England this plant is considered a winter bloomer; it flowers there in Feb. or March, occasionally Nov. CH
