Craniolaria (from a fancied resemblance of the pod to a skull or enamium). Martyniaceae. Coarse but interestin flowergarden annual. I cylindrical, campanulate at the throat, u< i". or lew) 2-lipped, the 5 lobes rounded and some.what undulate, the anterior largest; perfect stameni .. >:.Mus, affixed at or near the throat; ovary 1 'rll"< *r a 2-valved caps, with a long incurved beak, mrn.v-t« vl. —Two species, Venezuela to Paraguay. 1 >ui«llf. i infused with Martynia, from which it is dictingii' .I readily by having 4 rather than 2 fertile stamen - a .u by the very long and slender corolla-tube which widens at the throat; the closely related Proboscidea has a much broader tube widening nearly from the base.
