Crataegus Canbyi, Sarg. Shrub or bushy tree, to 20 ft.: branches wide-spreading, with thick usually straight spines: lvs. oblong-obovate to elliptic, acute or obtuse, coarsely and often doubly serrate above the middle, glabrous, l½-3 in. long: corymbs glabrous; calyx- lobes entire or sparingly serrate: fr. subglobose or ovoid, about Min. long, dark crimson, with juicy flesh and 3-5 stones.
