Acacia diffusa, Lindl. (A. genistaefolia, Link). A shrub of 5 or 6 ft. with loosely scattered foliage: phyll. linear or subulate, 1/2-1 1/4in. long (mostly 3/4in.), 1/12-1/8in. wide, 1-nerved, ending in sharp point: fls. in pairs or reduced to a single head, either 4- or 5-merous; peduncles 1/4in. long; sepals not half length of petals: pod stipitate, flat, acute, 3-4 in. long, 1/6in. broad, valves convex over seeds; funicle much folded and thickened from the middle. Apr., May. B.M.2417. B.R. 634. Var.cuspidata, Benth. (A. cuspidata, Cunn.). Phyll. more slender, from 3/4-2 in. long, about as broad as thick. CH
