Phyteuma scorzonerifolium, Vill. Fig. 2939. This and P. betonicaefolium should probably be regarded as botanical varieties of P. Michelii, but for clearness and for horticultural purposes they may be considered as distinct species. A native of the Alps with long-spiked fls. of sky-blue (B.M. 2066, erroneously as P. betonicaefolium) or purplish blue (B.M. 2271): lvs. polymorphous. CH
