Potentilla gracilis, Douglas. Erect and rather tall, about 2 ft. high, more or less white-hairy, erect branched and cyrnose-paniculate above: basal lvs. long-petioled, digitate; lfts. 5 - 7, obovate or oblanceolate, 1-2 in. long, deeply and regularly incised-dentate, sparsely pilose or glabrous and green above, white-tomentose beneath: fls. 6-9 lines broad, showy; petals obcordate, exceeding the acuminate sepals, yellow; carpels glabrous and smooth; style subterminal, slender, thickened at the base.
