Primula ovalifolia, Franch. Lvs. membranaceous, finally subcoriaceous, ovate, obtuse, crenulate or subentire, ciliate, contracted abruptly to the petiole which equals or is shorter than the blade and is more or less covered with red hairs: scape 1-6 in. high, equaling or shorter than the lvs., somewhat red-hairy: bracts lanceolate, acuminate: fls. purple; calyx open-campanulate, with lanceolate acuminate, hairy lobes; corolla-tube broadened to the concave limb, which is up to 1 in. across, with obovate slightly emarginate lobes.
