Eucalyptus macrocarpa, Hook. Stout shrub, 6-15 ft., usually white-mealy: lvs. all opposite, sessile, cordate-ovate: fls. orange-colored to crimson, very large, solitary; calyx-tube smooth or obscurely ridged; lid conical, longer than the tube; stamens about 1 in. long: fr. depressed-hemispherical, 1¼-3 in. across, with raised rim and broad protruding valves.
