Chalone AVA

The Chalone Appellation is an American Viticultural Area located in the Gabilan Mountains east of Soledad, California. The 8,640 acre[1] region is named for the nearby Chalone peaks and is located primarily in Monterey County, with a small part in San Benito County. Wineries and vineyards in the area include Chalone Vineyard, Brosseau Vineyards, Naylor Dry Hole Vineyard, Blue Mountain Vineyard, Michaud Vineyard, among others. Some of the wineries outside the area using Chalone Appellation grapes include Testarossa Vineyards, David Bruce Winery, and Loring Wine Company.

Wine from this AVA's grapes have won international recognition in wine competitions.
