Rodgersia aesculifolia, Batalin. About 2 1/2-6 ft. high: lvs. large, basal as much as 18 in. across, digitately compound, usually 7 lfts.; lfts. 4-10 in. long, narrowed to the base, coarsely toothed: infl. 1 1/2-2 ft. long, composed of flat clusters of white fls.; sepals rounded or blunt at apex: petioles, peduncles, and principal veins of lvs. covered with shaggy brown hairs.
