Rollinia orthopetala, A. DC. A shrub or small tree with the habit of R. Sieberi, but with the lvs. somewhat longer petioled: lvs. oval-oblong, acute at apex and base, pilose: peduncles in pairs: calyx-lobes smaller than in R. Sieberi; corolla-wings erect and incurved: fr. not described.—This species was described by De Candolle from a specimen in the De Candolle Herbarium collected by Parker near Demarara, British Guiana. The name has been incorrectly applied to several rollinias with edible fr. Of these the principal Rollinia orthopetala, A. DC. A shrub or small tree with the habit of R. Sieberi, but with the lvs. somewhat longer petioled: lvs. oval-oblong, acute at apex and base, pilose: peduncles in pairs: calyx-lobes smaller than in R.
