Rubus savatieri, Bailey (R. morifolius, Sieb.; Franch & Savat. Enum. Pl. Jap., 1875, not Muell., 1858. R. crataegifolius var. morifolius, Focke). Differs from R. crataegifolius by its more numerous and stronger prickles, the lvs. villous beneath and deeply cordate at base, shorter petioles and shorter and thicker pedicels. Japan.—Offered by dealers in Japanese plants, who speak of its pretty fr. ripening in July.
