Rubus chroosepalus, Focke. Strong-growing shrub, with slender sts. which bear few spines: lvs. simple, cordate-ovate, 4 in. long and nearly as broad, lindenlike, glabrous above, tomentose beneath: fls. in large loose panicles, apetalous, the reflexed sepals colored inside: fr. small, black. Cent. China. —Advertised abroad; evergreen probably in mild climates, but sometimes described as deciduous. Useful on posts and pergolas for its habit and foliage.
