Myrica faya, Ait. (Faya fragifera, Webb). Shrub or small tree, to 25 ft.: branches glabrous: lvs. oblong-lanceolate, acute, cuneate, entire or serrate, glabrous. 2-4 in. long: staminate fls. with 4 stamens; pistillate fls. and frs. in elongated spikes: fr. red, edible, ¼ in. across.
