Miltonia roezlii, Nichols. (Odontoglossum Roezlii, Reichb. f.). Pseudobulbs narrowly ovate, 1-2 in. long: lvs. numerous, slender, 8-12 in. long, narrowly linear- lanceolate: scapes about half as long as the lvs., bearing 2-3 large fls.; fls. flat, 3-3^6 in. across, pure white, with a purple band at the base of the petals and a yellow stain, more or less marked with reddish brown at the base of the labellum; sepals and petals ovate- oblong, acute; labellum large, broadly obcordate, with a tooth in the sinus, and a spur-like horn projecting backward on each side of the column. Closely allied to M . vexillaria, from which it differs in color and by the more slender, nerved Ivs. Flowers twice a year in winter and spring. Colombia. B.M. 6085. I.H. 23:228. R.H. 1875:450.
