Adenanthera pavonina, Linn. Red Sandalwood Tree. Lfts. about 13, ovate, obtuse, glabrous on both faces: fls. in an axillary spike-like raceme, white and yellow in the same cluster. Trop. Asia, where it grows to a tree of great size.—The red lens-shaped "Circassian seeds" are curiosities with travelers, and are used for necklaces, and the like.
