Amomum cardamon, Linn. Cardamon. Plant, 4-8 ft.: Lvs. spicy, lanceolate: fls. brownish, in a recumbent spike. E. Indies.—Produces many of the seeds of commerce. Not to be confounded Elettaria Caradamomum (which see). Sometimes in growing collections of economic plants. Forms very large clumps.
