Ansellia (in honor of John Ansell, African explorer). Orchidaceae. Epiphytic hothouse orchids with tall, thickened leafy stems. Flowers in panicles, showy; sepals and petals similar, spreading; lip erect, sessile at the end of the column- foot; lateral lobes broad, parallel, erect; middle lobe round-ovate, spreading ; pollinia 2.—A genus of 4 closely related species, perhaps all forms of 1 species.
