Crocus hadriaticus, Herb. Much like C. sativus: usually smaller-fld., pure white, the segms. pubescent at base: anthers bright orange, more than twice longer than the white or purple filaments. Greece, etc.—Runs into several forms. Var. melitensis, Hort. Fls. feathered with purple and brown. Malta. Var. Wilhelmii, Hort. Fls. pale, with purple markings outside near the throat. CH
