Diandrolyra (two-stamened Olyra). Gramineae. A single species raised at Kew some 8 years ago from seed supplied by Sander but native country unknown: differs from Olyra in its twin spikelets and other characters, the upper one being male and the lower one female, the male fls. with 2 stamens. The species is D. bicolor, Stapf, a perennial densely tufted grass with erect culms bearing 1-3 lanceolate or lance-oblong lvs. that are dark green above and violet-purple beneath. CH
