Erica ciliaris, Linn. A much-branched nearly hardy shrub, 10-20 in. tall, the branches usually glandular: lvs. small, but not as in typical heaths, ovate, mucronate: fls. about 4 lines long, or more, purplish, in spike- like, lateral clusters. Eu. June-Sept. B.M. 8443. CH
