Gypsophila perfoliata, Linn. (G. scorzonerifdlia, Hort.). A tall, thick and round- stemmed perennial, usually glabrous, but sometimes hairy near the summit: lvs. perfoliate. 5-nerved: fls. purplish, the sepals only slightly shorter than the petals. Medit. region.
