Kino. A dark rod or blackish plant product, usually of a resinous nature, rich in tannin. There are numerous kinds of kino obtained from plants of different families; some are used in medicine as an astringent, others are employed in dyeing and tanning. The Australian or Botany Bay kino is deriyed from various species of Eucalyptus. E. resinifera. is known as the kino eucalypt.
