Leptopteris (Greek, cut fern, alluding to the filmy texture of the leaves). Osmundaceae. About 6 greenhouse ferns with sporangia like those of Osmunda but with filmy leaves like those of Hymenophyllum. These sporangia grow on the backs of the leaves as in ordinary ferns.
